ADULT DISCIPLESHIP

Discipleship is becoming, learning to be, and mentoring others to be a follower of Christ.  It is an “on the road” learning and shaping process.  It is an interconnected process that involves us with God and others. It is messy, it is tiring, and it is exhilarating.

Each of us are called to be discipled and to disciple others according to our gifts, experiences, and personality. Each journey is different. First United Methodist Church's role is to help mentor and provide you with opportunities to experience God’s grace on this journey. Each of us will find different needs and tools for this journey depending on where we are in our life. All of us need others to hold us accountable and encourage us along. The discipling process is ultimately up to us. It is our responsibility to find the balance in our lives of Sabbath and Rest; Doing and Being; Experiencing God, corporately and privately. God provides means of grace that allow us tangible ways to experience God’s grace in our lives.  Check out our small group opportunities to discover these experiences of grace.

We have many different small groups available to help you find that group that can nurture you on your journey. If you have questions, or need more information about our Adult Discipleship ministry, please feel free to contact Deborah Rice at 501-545-3601 or drice@fumchs.com.
