Our Confirmation program for 6th grade students typically consists of classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, field trips, and retreats. Parents/guardians, mentors, staff, and volunteers all contribute to the success of our program. We strive to give our students an overview of the Bible, United Methodist history and theology, and safe space to question and develop an understanding of the faith so that they may begin to profess and live out their faith.
Orientation class is for parents/guardians and students. We will post the Orientation date and tentative Confirmation schedule here prior to school starting.
Typical Confirmation schedule:
Tween Time on Wednesdays in the Fall semester from 6:00 – 7:30 pm in the Christian Life Center in room #205. It will consist of an introduction to Youth with fun games/activities in the CLC gym and then an informative understanding of the overreaching themes of the Bible for confirmand students.
Collaborate Methodist Confirmation on Wednesdays in the Spring Semester from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the Christian Life Center, room #205. A parent and their student will both be required to attend.
Mentors will work with confirmands on an individual basis. Each mentor will walk alongside each student to encourage faith conversations after Confirmation is complete.
Retreats and Field Trips are interspersed throughout the year for both students and parents/guardians.
