Encourage your child to serve in worship! We need kids ages 5 - 12 years old who are willing to serve in worship as liturgists via video recordings during our Children's Sundays. Children's Sundays are on the 2nd Sunday of each month in the 9:30 Traditional Service and on the 3rd Sunday of each month in the 10:45am ConneXion Service (contemporary worship).
Email Michelle Wilkins to sign up your kiddos!
Our Wednesday After-school Kids program (W.A.K., as it is infamously known to most) is for Pre-K up to 5th grade students. W.A.K. typically runs from the first Wednesday in September through the middle of March. Classes & activities are held on Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30 pm (with the exception of holidays, and a few select dates). We typically pick-up students in 1st-5th grades from Park Magnet, Lakeside Primary, Lakeside Intermediate, and Lakeside Middle School and transport them by bus or church vans from school to our church. (Pre-K & Kindergarten students must arrive with their parent/guardian and be checked in). A light snack will be provided. Parents pick up @ First Methodist in the Christian Life Center - 218 Pratt Street at 5:30pm.
All students MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED in order to participate.
W.A.K. kids experience a rotation of Bible-based activities each week including SNACKS, CRAFTS, GAMES, STEM PROJECTS, BIBLE STORY VIDEOS, & SMALL GROUPS. We use creative STEM object lessons, crafts, games, and videos to show the kids how the weekly Bible stories apply to their daily lives and what God is calling them to do! Our prayer is that your child forms a deeper relationship with Christ through this ministry. We also pray that they will form some new and lasting friendships with their leaders and peers while they are here.
There is NO FEE for W.A.K., but we do have a maximum limit of kids for each small group.
DUE TO COVID-19, we do not know when, or if, our W.A.K. program will begin for the Fall Semester of 2020, but if we are able to have it, we will post the registration link here.
