Wonderfully made & Loved by God

Help your preteen learn they are wonderfully made by God with this faith and sexuality education program. Wonderfully Made is a 2-day human sexuality class for students in 5th-6th grade.

The preteen years are tough. Changes are happening to their bodies, minds, and emotions which makes it hard to know exactly what’s going on and what hard topics to try and discuss with Mom and Dad.  Wonderfully Made provides the opportunity to not only ask questions about growing up, but to get faith-based answers as well. The curriculum covers physical development and spiritual connection while helping preteens establish a foundation for their life in Christ.

All completed 5th & 6th graders are invited to take this class. (Going into 6th & 7th grade in Fall of 2022). Registration fee of $40 per student covers the cost of the book, supplies, trainer's fee and the student's snacks and breakfast/lunch on Saturday. Space is limited to 20 students for this workshop, so it will fill quickly!

All classes including the parent meeting will be held in "The Underground" youth area.

Children's Sundays

Encourage your child to serve in worship!  We need kids ages 5 - 12 years old who are willing to serve in worship as liturgists, acolytes, choir singers, pianists, and more during our Children's Sundays.  Children's Sundays are on the 2nd Sunday of each month during the school year in the 9:00 & 11:00am Traditional Services and on the 3rd Sunday of each month in the 9:00 am ConneXion Service (contemporary worship).

Email Michelle Wilkins to sign up your child!

wednesday After-school Kids

Our Wednesday After-school Kids program (W.A.K., as it is infamously known to most) is for Pre-K up to 5th grade students.  W.A.K.  typically runs from the first Wednesday in September through the middle of March.  Classes & activities are held on Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30 pm (with the exception of holidays, and a few select dates). We typically pick-up students in 1st-5th grades from Park Magnet, Lakeside Primary, Lakeside Intermediate, and Lakeside Middle School and transport them by bus or church vans from school to our church. (Pre-K & Kindergarten students must arrive with their parent/guardian and be checked in).  A light snack will be provided. Parents pick up @ First Methodist in the Christian Life Center - 218 Pratt Street at 5:30pm.

All students MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED in order to participate.

W.A.K. kids experience a rotation of Bible-based activities each week including SNACKS, CRAFTS, GAMES, STEM PROJECTS, BIBLE STORY VIDEOS, & SMALL GROUPS.  We use creative STEM object lessons, crafts, games, and videos to show the kids how the weekly Bible stories apply to their daily lives and what God is calling them to do!  Our prayer is that your child forms a deeper relationship with Christ through this ministry. We also pray that they will form some new and lasting friendships with their leaders and peers while they are here.

There is NO FEE for W.A.K., but we do have a maximum limit of kids for each small group.

For information about your child being added to the WAK roster for the Spring 2022 semester, please email Michelle Wilkins, Children's Minister.
